This logo was for a private hospital opened in 1979 to offer a luxurious way to get well. Besides offering a shopping arcade, restaurant, coffee lounge, health centre, Mount Elizabeth was said to be the first in the world to have first-class convalescent rooms.

The hospital organised a contest for a logo to depict the medical facilities and services available in a "single and easily recognisable" form. The winner was Mr Lawrence Wong, who won the prize of S$2,000.
