In 1987, a company was set up by Singapore's major public transport operators—SBS, SMRT and TIBS—to manage and market a new integrated public transport system in Singapore and implement its integrated ticketing system. The company worked with British firm MVA Consultancy to come up with a system which saw the introduction of magnetic stored-value tickets which could be used in both public trains and buses in 1990.
In 2010, the government's Land Transport Agency took over the company and a new logo was created for its fully-owned subsidiary.
