When it was completed in 1973, Golden Mile Shopping Complex was one of the first modern complexes in Singapore to integrate shops, offices and residences into a single 16-storey building. The building was developed by Singapura Developments and designed by Design Partnership (the predecessor of DP Architects). Singapura Developments was a subsidiary of the construction firm Woh Hup, and the complex was referred to as Woh Hup Complex in its early years.
The star-like logo consists of five arrows pointing to the shopping centre.
