The cover depicted the concern that Singapore's large-scale urban renewal was destroying much of its traditional architecture. Noting the establishment of a National Trees and Parks Committee, the magazine called for a similar committee to preserve historic buildings to ensure that "Singapore 25 years hence will not look just like Los Angeles, Sydney or Harlow New Town".
